Responsibilities

Collects real and personal property taxes; keeps an account of township receipts (revenues) and expenditures; issues township checks; deposits township revenues in approved depositories; invests township funds in approved investment vehicles; collects delinquent personal property tax; responsible for jeopardy assessments in collecting property tax; collects mobile home specific tax; must post a surety bond. The elected treasurer must appoint a deputy treasurer.

Taxes

Dover Township has a winter and a summer tax billing cycle. Late payments sent to Otsego County Treasurer at the Treasurer's office at:

225 West Main Street
Gaylord, Michigan 49735.

Winter

Township taxes can be paid without penalty to the Dover Township Treasurer through February 14, 2025.

After February 14th interest is assessed per state law.  The township can receive payment until February 28th with the Township Treasurer.  On March 1st  taxes can only be paid at the Otsego County Treasurer's Office in Gaylord.

Summer

Summer taxes and due and payable July 1st and may be paid through September 14th without penalty.
